Do-it-yourself Projects...

Building things yourself can give you a sense of satisfaction. Most items pond related are quite simple to make if you give it a bit of thought. In most cases is it cost less money to build yourself than to purchase retail. In this section of our site you will find DIY projects that are fairly easy to do and can save you money.

First up is the holding tank. We were about to move house and the new place had no ponds. Ian figured he'd just build a large holding tank for all our koi to over winter in, which would be located in the garage at the new house.

Second tank has been built and running since January 2004. Same construction and materials used for tank #1.

You can never have too much mechanical filtering.. here Ian converts a barrel into a static media filter for tank #1.

A three barrel system made to replace the Nexus300 filter on Tank #1.
